From approximately fifty initial applications to speak at TEDxVenlo 2016, the organization announces the first five confirmed speakers who will take the mainstage in November. These speakers made it trough selection, a video performance and a speakerscompetition and thereby claimed their time on the infamous red dot.
“Just like previous years the quality of the speakers is exceptional. The diversity and enthusiasm was amazing, which made it all the more difficult for us to make a selection. We are very satisfied with the current line-up and excited about the speakers who have yet to be announced.” – according to the organization.
Remko Killaars teaches Industrial Product Design at Fontys Highschool in Venlo. In his talk he will explain why companies specifically ask for students from this field of study. Eating healthy isn’t always easy, Dieuwertje Crasborn has a solution! Electrical Engineer Dick Klaassen has developed a sustainable product which can support and improve refugee camps. Stephan Ummelen battles ‘false core values’ and explains why value driven companies do better than others. The fifth speaker is Dominique Troisfontaine, a student at the HAS university, who made the cut at the student speakerscompetition. In his talk he will give us a tour through the mind of someone with dyslexia.
You can register for TEDxVenlo from the 15th of September until the 30th of October via this link. You’re required to fill out a motivation form, for this will be the way you ‘pay’ for your ticket. On the 4th of November we will announce who will get a ticket based on their motivation.
TEDxVenlo is an independently organized event with a license from TED. TED is a foundation with more than 30 years of experience, organizing conferences with the ultimate goal to change and deepen peoples’ opinions and – eventually- change the world.
