Growing up with two different cultures in The Netherlands is difficult sometimes. 18 year old Bilal Najja knows all about it. “It is important that we work together as a society. But how can we do that if we do not know our teammates?”

The Netherlands is a multicultural country where everyone is open to one another. That is what we are known for, right?

Me, myself and I 
Wrong! The Technical Business student experienced otherwise. Bilal is not just Dutch. He also has a Moroccan nationality and he experiences some issues. The problem? “People have become more and more individual.”

Team up
“There are national problems occurring, such as excessive CO2 emissions, and it is important that we work together as a society. But how can we do that if we do not know our teammates?”
“It touches me that some people do not know where their own neighbour originates from. Especially, since peoples origin is such an important part of their identity.”

In his talk Bilal will tell us more about his experiences, the culture clash, and how it impacted him. “I want to encourage people to be brave, open up more, and work together.”
